Meet the Band
Sweet Tooth Beauregard is a mouthful of a name – we get it – but we bet you'll remember it! Our goal is to make you smile not only from our whimsical name, but also (and most importantly) by how you feel when you hear us play. We take performance seriously, even if we take ourselves (and our name) lightly.
Come hear us – or hire us!
We believe there’s a feeling of levity and friendship among the band members that resonates with listeners – and we’d love the chance to feel the connection music brings with you. Here’s a little about each of us.
Nate Jones
Guitarist and Vocalist
Nate’s been a performing singer since he was 10, and was drawn to the guitar at 14, teaching himself to play and hoping his parents would give up on required piano lessons (alas, no luck). A human resources leader in the medical device industry, he retired early a few years ago. He and his wife, Myra, enjoy travel and time with family. They live in Pittsboro.
Greg Mattern
Lead Guitarist
Greg’s been playing since his teens, but had a long career in regulatory affairs before retiring early a few years ago. Most recently playing in praise bands, Greg’s been having a blast playing leads on our versions of many rock classics. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Pittsboro.
Chris Hooks
Bass Guitarist
Chris is actually a cellist who drifted to the dark side and picked up the bass guitar. He is a sports marketer by day, and bassist by night. While some go by ear or chord charts, Chris actually has the music score scrolling when we play. Pro tip: tip us and Chris may sing country… He and his wife, Tina, live in Moncure.
Nick Bria
Drummer and Vocalist
Nick’s been a drummer as long as he can remember, even back in the days when he had long hair. His passion and profession in life has been in and around the performance industry. Currently, he’s in the theater performance team at Duke University. He and his wife, Suzen, live in Chapel Hill.
